Feel really lucky to have cross country skied during a very shortened season this year. Great conditions at Callaghan Valley outside Whistler and Cypress Mountain, Vancouver before the weather turned warmer.

Wild Cyclamen, drawn using Faber Castell, Verithin Prismacolor and Trojiten coloured pencils.

A short break away near Oliver in the Okanagan began with a stunning trip through a frozen landscape as we drove from Vancouver through Manning Park, buffeted by howling winds and past Princeton as the temps hit -27c. Daily walks required wrapping up in layer after layer of clothing in -20c or so as the deep freeze settled in. We cut short the break a day early and drove home on my birthday to avoid a snowstorm rolling in that same evening……

The calm before the busyness of December, when so much vies for your attention and energy……..
